Plot:

A story about a forbidden romance that has weathered ten lifetimes and endured a thousand years of waiting.

In the ancient times, the great minister of the Yan Kingdom, Zuo Xiang, secretly communicated with the enemy country, the Tian Yuan Kingdom, and causes Yan to perish.

Fu Jiu Yun rescues Princess Tan Chuan. They witness their people being enslaved by Tian Yuan and are pained by it. Tan Chuan vows to find the ancient spirit lamp in order to save her people.

Tan Chuan and Fu Jiu Yun fall in love and find the spirit lamp together. They discover that Fu Jiu Yun’s true identity is a spirit lamp wick. When the spirit lamp is turned on, Fu Jiu Yun will disappear, and those that turn on the lamp will have to sacrifice themselves.

The two determine to make the sacrifice to save everyone. At the critical moment Tan Chuan’s cousin turns on the spirit lamp for her and Fu Jiu Yun disappears. Tan Chuan misses Jiu Yun dearly and touches the lamp to sacrifice herself as well.

The gods are deeply touched by their sacrifice to save their homeland and rewards them to meet again.
